When selling products online, it is necessary to use powerful words in
your sales materials to get the readers attention. Doing this will pull
the reader into the sales copy, will stimulate their interest and
desire for your product or service and finally, will propel your
potential customer into taking the action you want, which is usually to
click the buy button or to sign up for whatever you may be offering
such as a newsletter, mailing list, priority announcement list etc.



This is a successful and well-known strategy in copywriting and
used by successful marketers known as the "AIDA" principle which, is an
acronym for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.



Properly learning and applying this strategy will give you a major
advantage when trying to grow your business however, there is an
increasing number of marketers who over-hype their sales copy to the
point where they are actually making false claims and promising
benefits the product either doesn't provide or just barely touches on
what has been promised.



Unless you are already familiar with the merchant and the quality
of his/her usual offerings or are following the recommendation of a
trusted source, you may want to take some extra steps to make sure your
online buying experience will be a good one.



Do a check on the merchant's website and if there is anything you

if you should purchase the product. This tactic should be a good
indicator in telling you if you should steer clear.




You may also want to visit popular forums within the related niche to see what others are saying about the product.



People are usually more than happy to share their experiences and
there may already be on-going discussions or you can start your own
thread to ask if anyone has experience with the product.



In closing, it is important to remember that common sense is still
the order of the day and the practice of healthy skepticism will go a
long way to making sure you will be happy with what you have paid for.
If the claims made sound too outrageous to be believable, there is a
good chance those claims have been grossly exaggerated or are not true.

Promotional products have been used for years to advertise businesses
at conferences and trade shows all over the world. If you are using
this particular aspect of business to promote your company and get your
name out there at a conference or trade show, then you are already
stepping out ahead of the competition by helping your client base
remember you long after the conference or trade show is over. To really
take off ahead of the competition, however, you should know the best
ways to take full advantage of your promotional products.



If you are selling things at a conference aimed at writers, you
would not be best advised to hand out golf umbrellas. Instead, useful
things like notepads with your company logo at the top, pens, and
conference folders would be much more appreciated. Matching your
promotional products to your client base is a great way to ensure that
your company name will be remembered as the lifesaver that provided
just the right product at just the right time rather than forgotten as

other promotional product, and will be in your booth already, more
likely to look at what you have to offer. You can hand out the note
pads with the pens if you want, or find another creative way for your
customers to earn them. There are plenty of great ways to turn
promotional products and items into a serious strategic advantage, and
you can continue to use them again and again to your great benefit.

Alright, you're so anxious about this MLM lead that your heart is
pounding out of your chest and you're gnawing on your pen cap like a
dog on a bone. The big sale, this is one you don't want to lose.
However, when the phone stops ringing and you hear a "hello," you
realize that you've swallowed the pen cap and are now turning blue.
Hmmm. Bye Bye MLM lead. Bad set of nerves you've got there. That's
alright. There are some tips that can help improve your MLM phone
skills. If you've never done this before, or even if you've done it a
million times. Everyone can learn something to help them out with their
MLM skills.



The first thing you should do BEFORE you are actually on the phone,
is anticipate the other person's answers and know how you're going to
respond. If Mary is selling cosmetics and she's on the phone with Lisa,
a potential buyer, especially a big one, she doesn't want to get caught
off guard. Think about this. Mary has been talking to Lisa about a
lipstick that costs thirty dollars. She's so sure she's going to get
this sale that she's practically writing out the receipt now. Suddenly
Lisa says, "Gee Mary, I'd really like that lipstick but I don't think
my husband would be happy with me spending thirty dollars on it. Do you
have one that's a bit cheaper?" Well, Mary's product book is closed,
under the half written sales receipt, so she's stumbling around trying
to get to the lipstick page, muttering under her breath. Lisa feels
embarrassed and quickly mutters a "Sorry I have to go, dinner's
burning."



You never want to be stuck with your tongue hanging out because you
didn't think about 'what if (s)he says this?' If need be, practice with
a friend and encourage them to blindside you with certain questions or
comments so you'll have a good idea of how to respond.



Another thing you want to be sure of is that you are knowledgeable
about what you're discussing. Okay, you probably guessed that one, but
I mean really knowledgeable. If your big lead asks a question and you
have no idea what the answer is, boy aren't you going to be kicking
your own backside later. This time instead of asking about the cheaper
lipstick, Lisa says, "Mary, I'd really like to have that lipstick but
can you tell me if it has any petrolatum in it because I'm highly
allergic." Hmmm. Mary's jaw is sitting on the floor because how should
she know what the lipstick has in it. Sadly, Mary's muttering again
while she's trying to find something in her little book about
petrolatum and Lisa quietly decides she'll stick to her old brand of
petrolatum free lipstick.



Make sure you know all you can about the subject you'll be
discussing. If you truly don't know the answer to something be quick to
refer the person to someone who does know, or offer to get the
information and get back to them quickly.



Another tip I have for you is to be flexible. Sounds easy enough,
right? People these days are extremely busy and quite simply don't have
a lot of time. Be prepared to make changes in your schedule to
accommodate your big lead's needs. If you have a meeting with one
person that can easily be changed so that you can meet with another
person that absolutely has to see you today, then do it. They will
appreciate that you understand that their time is valuable.



Last but not least, smile and remember that the person on the other
line is just that, a person. With these tips, it should be smooth
sailing from here on.

A few years ago I came to the realization that if you're running a
mortgage business that's computer and Internet based, you need to

As you may have guessed, I'm not talking about a Dell, HP, or
Gateway laptop computer. I'm referring to an inexpensive school spiral
notebook. It may seem silly to store information in such an old

Every mortgage professional should have one notebook in which he or
she can safeguard critical information. Use your notebook to store
important passwords, website URLs, membership sites, key contacts and

In marketing there are two big factors that help you attract clients
consistently. The first is Strategy - the ability to create an
effective client-attracting plan. The second is Implementation - the
ability to put that plan into action.



But there is another, perhaps even more important factor that helps
you attract clients. You might call it the Familiarity Factor.



I have noticed that people are simply more likely to do business
with you (Strategy and Implementation being equal) if people feel that
they know you, like you and trust you.




How important is this in the whole scheme of things?



Just a tiny bit of the Familiarity Factor can tip the scales in

Think about that. The only difference is that you have a name of

And any way you can increase the Familiarity Factor in your marketing,
the greater success you will have.




How can you increase the Familiarity Factor in your business?



1. Be more visible. Network in groups and meet people face-to-face.
Give talks. Send an eZine. All of these activities are not only good
marketing strategies, they simply get people familiar and comfortable
with you.



2. Listen more than talking. When you meet people, work at
listening and getting to know them more than trying to impress them.
Funny thing - when you listen they feel they know you better and trust
you more than when you talk.



3. Give away information. Everything from free reports to web site
content, to a talk or presentation. This enables people to check you
out without any pressure. Haven't you felt you really knew somebody
after hearing their talk?



4. Use case studies and testimonials. These are much more powerful
than anything you can say about your services or how you work with
clients. Create a written success story from every successful client
project.



5. Write conversationally. Just write (letters, marketing
materials, web copy, articles, eZines) as if you're talking to someone
face-to-face. Keep it real.



6. Be accessible. Make it easy for people to reach you by email and
by phone. And when they reach you, be a "regular person," don't go into
"sales and marketing mode." Listen more than pitching.



7. Ask for referrals. Remember the example above. A name of someone
familiar is an immediate ice breaker. Look, if your clients are happy
with the work you do, they will happily give you leads. You just have
to ask.



By all means, develop and plan effective marketing strategies and
work on consistent implementation, but also work at weaving the
Familiarity Factor throughout all your marketing activities.

Most affiliate marketers think that PPC or Pay Per Click campaigns are
better at driving traffic, as compared to article marketing.
They’re wrong. The fact is, article marketing carries with it far
less risk and much more impact than PPC campaigns.




How does PPC work?



For those of you new to PPC, here’s an overview on how it
works. Basically, PPC uses advertisements to get a reader’s
attention. Once the reader clicks on the ad, the affiliate marketer
earns a commission. A lot of research and money goes into placing ads
in strategic positions. The competition is so fierce that organizations
scramble to get their products listed in the PPC campaigns. Millions of
dollars are spent each day on these campaigns.




Why spend so much when you can avoid it?



Yes, PPC campaigns, for all their hype, do not provide the same
results as article marketing does. Why is it that article marketing is
